I created this blog to talk about my home region. I've used many images, including archival images but mostly I've used my own images.
I listened to her obituary on the BBC last night....the best comment stated"she had a wonderful colour in her voice"
Yes, I heard another - a critic said "She had poor diction, early in her career. He husband (Richard Bonynge - the conductor)told her this and said she needed to work on it." He felt she preferred the 'sound of her musical voice' over good diction. A nice way of saying she just loved to sing!
She will be missed indeed! Hard shoes to fill.Jim
