I created this blog to talk about my home region. I've used many images, including archival images but mostly I've used my own images. I've always attempted to be accurate with my material but I am open to any comments from people whose opinion or vision may be different to mine.

The King's Speech
Tonight I watched The King's Speech - Colin Firth as "Bertie/George V" and Geoffrey Rush as Lionel Logue.
In a word "Splendid" and highly recommended viewing! Just watch these two - the rest are mere supporting actors!
Yes! We bought the DVD and arranged our dinner to be able to sit and watch it uninterupted! Loved it and we are going to watch it again to pick up all those little 'background' things you miss in the original viewing.
Derek Jacobi (The AB of Westminster) was shown as being villainous and Timothy Spall (Winston) was 'believable'.
I agree...I took my daughter and my partner and we were all mesmerized.
