Careful with your punctuation ....

A woman wanted to write a letter to a man. This is what she wanted to say:

Dear John,

I want a man who knows what love is all about. You are generous, kind, thoughtful. People who are not like you admit to being useless and inferior. You have ruined me for other men. I yearn for you. I have no feelings whatsoever when we're apart. I can be forever happy - will you let me be yours?

Gloria

With the cruelty of grammar applied this is what he received:
Dear John,

I want a man who knows what love is. All about you are generous, kind, thoughtful people, who are not like you. Admit to being useless and inferior. You have ruined me. For other men, I yearn. For you, I have no feelings whatsoever. When we're apart, I can be forever happy. Will you let me be?

Yours,
Gloria

I use email a lot and I am amazed at the amount of adverse reactions some simple emails draw, simply based, I s'pose, on the perspective and reading by the receiver. The electronic mail medium is so asy to cause others to feel offended. Same with Letters to the Editor - I write to our locl paper in a light-hearted vein and "take the Mickey" out of some of our local goings on - council meetings are a great subject matter - but I usually get two or three responses from very irate people who believe I was being 'dead serious'! LOL!
