Happy Easter

My Armenian mate - who's parents did the "Long Walk" out of Armenia to escape the Russians and ended up settling in Jerusalem before migrating to Australia - is cropping his late harvest Olives in his orchard out near Majura Lane at Queanbeyan this morning (he has an old Toyota Cressida automatic that he cut the roof off and sits up on the top of the front seat, no windscreen and drives down between the rows of olive trees picking off the fruit and tossing them in the back where the back seat used to be - I asked "Why?" and he says "I can't afford a tractor!")

Anyhoo-dee-do he took time to send me this picture of one of the many baskets of home-made goodies he is going to hide throughout the orchard this afternoon so that his grandkids can got hunting Easter eggs and 'sweetmeats' and fresh bread sticks!

He's a bit of an 'eccentric', this old mate. He says that to appreciate good things you have to be denied them and forced to make do!

(He steers the Toyota with his feet, maniipulating a hand throttle he made up and picks the Olives as he drives between the trees! lol!)

Lovely basket.
And what an original idea your friend has to do his harvesting. That's great. :o)
